The Campaign for Latin: Ways of Giving






Thank you for considering a gift to The Campaign for The Latin School! This Campaign is an extraordinary opportunity in the history of the School, and the involvement of the full Latin community will be required for its success. The Campaign for The Latin School is a "comprehensive campaign" The Campaign goal is $50 million: $40 million for campaign initiatives and $10 million for the Annual Fund and event underwriting during the life of the Campaign. Donors may allocate their total Campaign gift among the annual fund, event underwriting, and campaign initiatives. For guidance in how to allocate your gift, please call the Development Office at (312) 582-6040 or send an e-mail message to campaign@latinschool.org. Making a Campaign Pledge Many donors make a multi-year pledge to the Campaign, paying their gift in installments so that they are able to be more generous. To make a pledge, a donor completes a pledge form outlining the donation, including the time period over which the gift will be made, how the gift should be allocated, and other details. Written pledges are important so that Latin can put gifts to use as donors intend, recognize donors properly, and accurately track progress toward fundraising goals. According to the schedule you outline on a pledge form, Latin will send you installment reminders. You may make your gifts by check, with a credit card, or by transferring securities. Gifts also may be made through personal or family foundations or other charitable vehicles. Matching Gifts If your employer (or parent company) provides matching funds, your gift to Latin could be at least doubled! Matching gifts may be included as part of your Campaign gift. Making a Gift Payment You may make a gift to the Campaign or a pledge payment today. Because it is important that the Annual Fund is sustained while new funds are raised for Campaign initiatives, we encourage you to renew your Annual Fund support first and allocate additional funds you contribute to support Campaign initiatives. Your total support, to both Annual Fund and Campaign initiatives, will count as your gift to The Campaign for Latin. If you do not request otherwise, that is how we will allocate your gift: first renewing your Annual Fund support and allocating the remainder to Campaign initiatives.
