Endowment
At $13,000 per student, Latin's endowment considerably lags those of its peers, which average $23,000 per student. The Campaign will raise additional endowment funds to:
- Secure Latin's future by strengthening its reserves .
- Position Latin to take advantage of future opportunities.
- Give faculty and staff the resources they need to provide education of the
highest quality every year.
- Further strengthen our student body by expanding availability of need-based
financial assistance.
- Continue the effort begun with the Campaign's Faculty Compensation Initiative,
and annually reward faculty with salaries and professional development opportunities
that attract the best teachers to Latin and keep them here.
Academic Initiatives
Latin offers a number of programs that other schools nationwide look to as models. Building on this foundation, The Campaign will:
- Provide immediate funds for The Faculty Compensation Initiative to normalize faculty salary and make Latin's early and mid-career faculty scale competitive for the best teachers.
- Fund the Latin Initiative for Ethics (LIFE) program.
- Support and create additional distinctive academic programs.
- Expand and enhance professional development opportunities for faculty.
- Provide additional summer curriculum grants for faculty.
- Expand physical space per student 40% with the addition of the new Middle School and reallocation of space throughout the school, allowing for improvement of academic programming across the board.
Facilities
Fulfilling a long-time dream of an "urban campus," The Campaign for Latin will:
- Build a new Middle School.
- Renovate existing buildings to fully utilize the newly available space in age-appropriate ways.
- Create an inviting streetscape unifying the School's three sites that honors and enhances the neighborhood.
Annual Giving
The Campaign for Latin will increase the level of annual giving—the lifeblood of any nonprofit institution—to:
- Provide support for each of Latin's programs.
- Maintain the quality of life enjoyed by Latin's students.
- Reduce dependence on tuition revenue.
